With three albums under her belt and 8.1 million sales in the U.S., Aaliyah was bound to be up for a Grammy at some point during her 10-year career. And she did.

Gaining five nominations including a double nod in the Best R&B Female Performance category for 'More Than a Woman' and 'Rock the Boat' in 2002, she unfortunately went home without an award.

Since her remarkable career was cut short due to her tragic death in 2001, it's unlikely she'll receive a Grammy posthumously. However, it's worth noting that at the time of her death, she was just 22 and had already released three albums.
