With the music business still a male-dominated field, Julie Greenwald, chairman and COO of Atlantic Records Group, has managed to put forth various initiatives to propel artists' careers, thus raising album sales despite the current industry climate.

"Yesterday's way of rolling out a record is just that," she told Billboard in 2011. "It's all about trying new things. Every day we're experimenting with new strategies and just trying to think differently."

As the highest-ranking female executive in music, it's no surprise that she has taken the top spot on Billboard's Women in Music three years in a row. Her enthusiasm for her job, willingness to think outside the box and act like a team player despite her position proves why she is on this list.
