Gladys Knight & the Pips made waves with 'I Heard It Through the Grapevine,' 'Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)' and 'Midnight Train to Georgia.' With seven Grammy awards and an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996, the group was very successful. However, Knight was bound to want to go out on her own.

Releasing eight solo albums, Knight has also made a name for herself by the collaborations she did throughout her career. Teaming up with Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder and Elton John, they recorded 'That's What Friends Are For' in 1986, as an AIDS benefit single and won a Grammy in the Best Pop Performance By a Duo or Group With Vocal category for the song.

She also teamed up with Patti La Belle, Ray Charles and Johnny Mathis on a series of duets. Knight sang two songs for Michael Jackson's funeral services in 2009, and struck a chord with those close to the late King of Pop as well as the fans that adore him. Honored with numerous legend awards, Knight is a timeless songstress whose songs and voice are still heard today.
