Contrary to previous reports, 2 Chainz was not robbed at gunpoint Sunday afternoon (June 9) in San Francisco, Calif.

According to Radio.com, who spoke with the San Francisco Police Department, a robbery did occur but the victim was a member of 2 Chainz's entourage and not the rapper himself.

“He was not the victim of a robbery,” San Francisco police told the news website. “He was there, but he wasn’t the victim.”

Apparently, the Atlanta rhymer was with his crew at 4:30PM when they were approached by a gunman who fired one shot in the air.

While most of the group scattered, one person fell to the ground and was then robbed by the assailant.

Police also added that all the parties involved were "being very uncooperative" with the investigation. So far, no suspect has yet to be unidentified.

2 Chainz, who was in town to perform at Oakland's Summer Jam concert, did go on Twitter Monday (June 10) to deny that he got robbed or was shot at.

We are glad that 2 Chainz and his crew are safe and sound. Be careful Tity Boi, the streets are watching.

UPDATE (June 10):

Radio.com is now reporting that 2 Chainz was, in fact, the victim of a robbery in San Francisco Sunday night (June 9). Dennis Toomer, a spokesperson for the San Francisco police, told the news website that investigators had informed him that the victim was actually 2 Chainz and not a member of his entourage.

The Atlanta rapper had his wallet, which contained credit cards and cash, and his cell phone taken from him during the incident. No one else was injured.

Reps for 2 Chainz had no comment on the matter.
